Looking at NXT Heatwave 2025, I wrote a storyline booking that will run its course over multiple matches in the show. I wrote this before the August 19th go-home episode of NXT, so something could possibly happen that makes this pitch impossible - so just ignore that I guess? Alrighty anyways, here we go!
Setting the table
As the show is starting, a big SUV pulls up to the arena and Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazmyn Nyx of Fatal Influence get out of the vehicle. As they are walking towards the building, they are stopped for a quick interview about the challenges Jacy Jayne faces tonight. As the interview is ongoing, we can see Blake Monroe exiting from the back of the SUV as well but she sneaks off in the background.
Jordynne Grace vs Blake Monroe
Given the build surrounding Jordynne Grace vs Blake Monroe, the match absolutely needs to be based around Grace trying to get her hands on Monroe, with Monroe escaping just narrowly. For example, the bell rings for the match to start and Monroe immediately rolls out of the ring as Grace lunges forward to attack. Grace chases her around the ring, leading to Monroe rolling back in and stomping down Grace as she tries to roll back into the ring herself. This is not a competitive match, this is a cat and mouse chase. Monroe does get some offense in, but only after doing something to momentarily incapacitate Grace, like a thumb (or a nail) to the eye.
It still doesn’t sit right with me that on NXT a few weeks ago, the NXT crowd cheered Monroe as she was body shaming Grace. That segment absolutely fell short from the intended mark, so I would have commentary put over Grace as conquering a bully throughout the match.
In the closing stretch of the match we see Jordynne Grace hit her finisher on Monroe but surprisingly, Fallon Henley comes running down the entrance ramp. This catches the attention of the ref, who becomes distracted trying to tell Henley that she can’t be out here. As the ref is distracted, Jazmyn Nyx attacks Jordynne from behind then rolls out and under the ring. The ref turns back around to Blake Monroe hitting her finisher on Jordynne and boom - 1, 2, 3, Monroe is the winner. After the match, the three women continue to attack Jordynne Grace until she is completely incapacitated. Henley and Nyx leave the ring to let Blake Monroe stand alone over a fallen Grace.
Jaida Parker vs Kelani Jordan vs Lola Vice - (For the #1 contendership to the NXT Women’s Championship)
I find it interesting that all three women are babyfaces - so with that being said, I am booking that this match doesn’t even get started. Lola Vice and Jaida Parker are in the ring as Kelani Jordan is making her entrance, when suddenly Vice and Parker are attacked from behind by Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx. As Jordan is frozen in confusion for a moment, she is attacked from behind with a chair by Blake Monroe.
(For a quick recent history recap, let’s rewind the clocks back a month to July 29th. All three women in the triple threat match interrupted Monroe's promo about what makes championship material. That same day, Parker defeated Nyx in the opening match. On August 12th, Jordan and Vice beat Henley and Jayne. Additionally the number one contendership is for the title Jayne is currently the holder of).
Jacy Jayne walks out onto the ramp, clapping with an amused smirk. Monroe laughs and gives Jayne a handshake, exiting the stage to leave Jayne, Henley and Nyx looking strong and standing tall. Commentary puts over the fact that there must have been a deal struck when we saw them all leave the same SUV.
(Having Blake Monroe stand alone at the end of her match and having Fatal Influence stand alone at the end of this segment hopefully conveys that this is purely a business beat and Monroe DID NOT join Fatal Influence. I am banking on this detail to help avoid any confusion with the live crowd).
Jacy Jayne vs Masha Slamovich vs Ash by Elegance - (For the TNA Knockouts World Championship)
The match gets going in a competitive manner. In the climax of the match, all three women are down in the ring when Henley and Nyx make their way down to ringside - but before they can even enter the ring to do any damage, Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice appear at the entrance ramp. The three women work together to neutralize Fatal Influence but after a few minutes, Blake Monroe appears with her steel chair to even out the numbers game and the heels even start to get the advantage.
Boom - Jordynne Grace’s music hits as she runs down the entrance ramp. The women who are not officially in the match brawl through the crowd and out of the arena. This leaves Jacy and Masha alone in the ring, Ash by Elegance laid out ringside. Masha hits her finisher on Jayce, but shockingly Ash by Elegance recovers and enters the ring to steal the victory with a roll up pin to Masha from behind. Ash by Elegance is the new TNA Knockouts World Champion.
Jacy Jayne vs Jaida Parker vs Kelani Jordan vs Lola Vice - (For the NXT Women's Championship)
NXT GM Ava comes out the entrance ramp, irate with what has happened over the course of the show. She announces that Jacy will defend her NXT Women’s championship against Parker, Jordan, AND Vice in Heatwave's new main event - with one stipulation. Anyone who interferes in the match will be fired. After three matches with shenanigans, we finally get a straight up match that showcases all four women's best abilities.
The crowd goes home happy - Kelani Jordan wins. And it’s not just to end the show on a high note, Jordan truly deserves it. I also think she is the perfect babyface to go against Fatal Influence, who will be trying to recapture the belt Jayne lost.
Boooooooom baby
So there we have it. Blake Monroe vs Jordynne Grace gets heat that can move the feud past “bullying” storylines, Fatal Influence looks to have a dominant game plan - until it backfires, and the chaos finally pays off with Kelani Jordan standing tall as the new champ. I am looking forward to seeing how the event actually plays out!
Thanks for reading - keep it beachy, baby!
