Clash in Paris is looking a little bland, can’t even lie to ya. Here are my fantasy bookings for the event that hopefully turn it into a must see PLE. Enjoy!
Becky Lynch vs Nikki Bella (For the Women's Intercontinental Championshp)
Going for a hot start here…
At Clash in Paris, in the middle of the ring, Nikki Bella gets the “1, 2, 3, and New” - thanks to a distraction provided by Lyra Valkyria.
The Dirt Sheets have a field day with “confirmed reports of Becky Lynch PUNISHED for Ozzy comments”. Confirmed reports… yeah, okay. Becky Lynch wins it back the next night on RAW, after having Valkyria banned from ringside by complaining to Pearce. WWE love messing with the credibility of the Dirt Sheets lately and this seems right up their alley to do - plus let’s give the Paris crowd and the fans at home a little bit of a shock win for that PLE oomph factor.
And I would really have Nikki go absolutely all out. Remember when Cena had that 2016 run where everyone was like “oh shit, he’s actually amazing this entire time”? This is Nikki’s match that starts a run like that from her. Honestly just a well paced match with a few moves here and there that we’ve never seen her do and that would pretty much do the trick!
Roman Reigns vs Bronson Reed
Bronson Reed wins with the help of Bron Breakker spearing the life out of Reigns while the ref is down, leaving him open for a Tsunami and a pin as a new ref comes to the ring. Jey Uso flys down to the ring and gets both Vision members with a super kick and they roll out of the ring as Roman is getting to his feet. Paul Heyman is yelling “Stick to the plan! Stick to the plan!”, so Breakker and Reed just back off - leaving Jey and Roman together in the ring.
The main reason I put Reed over is because I would book Reigns vs Breakker at Wrestlepalooza, with Reigns winning. I like this idea of Reed having something up on Breakker that could be used to create tension in the group. Maybe Rollins uses the fact that “well Reed can get the job done, but Breakker can’t” as a way to control Breakkers emotions. It’s also an interesting dynamic because Reed only won with the help of Breakker, to whereas maybe Reed wasn’t as helpful at Wrestlepalooza - or maybe he didn’t help at all. Interesting dynamics, I must say.
The Wyatt Sicks vs The Street Profits (For the WWE Tag Team Championships)
In the closing stretch of the match, a man wearing a Wyatt Family-esqe mask appears and attacks The Street Profits with a kendo stick, causing a DQ finish. Commentary question if this is a new family member but Bo Dallas looks visibly confused. The masked man goes to embrace Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy with a hug, but then also ends up attacking them with the kendo stick as well. Dallas flies into the ring and gets the masked man into position for a Sister Abigail, only for it to be reversed into a Skull Crushing Finale - The mask man revealing himself to be The Miz.
The following SmackDown, Miz explains he wanted to show Melo that he was sorry for dropping the ball in a big way. He says he did it for the team to show they are as dominant as the other groups, as well as to show Melo that Miz can still get things done. Melo isn’t about it at all and actually says his partnership with Miz is done, stating The Miz’s stunt has made them a target that Melo doesn’t want to be a part of.
The fallout from this is Melo apologizes to The Street Profits, which begins a budding relationship that ultimately sees Melo become a Street Profit. There have been talks for years about the Profits breaking up so Montez Ford can become a singles star, but why not make him a singles star within the group? Dawkins and Hayes in the tag division and Ford chasing singles titles.
Also I would have this start a similar storyline to what we saw a few years back with Dexter Lumis and the Miz. Miz is stalked and hunted by The Wyatt Sicks for his actions, with Miz desperately trying to find allies. Maybe we see Miz get the help of R Truth, who also drags Damian Priest into the mix.
Stephanie Vaquer vs Raquel Rodriguez (For the vacant Women’s World Championship)
An additional title match at the PLE? Oomph factor expanded! (Okay I won’t say that shit again, my bad bro).
We are going to rewrite this past weeks RAW to fit my narrative here:
The Roman Reigns promo was great and everything but that backstage segment he had with Jey and the brawl with Bronson feels more his aura and mystique.. so I would cut that promo and the Ripley vs Perez match in favor for Gauntlet match featuring to see how would face Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant Championship.
The gauntlet would go like this
Asuka vs Rhea Ripley
Roxanne Perez vs Rhea Ripley
Raquel Rodriguez vs Rhea Ripley
Maxxine Dupri vs Raquel Rodriguez
Raquel Rodriguez wins
The Maxxine Dupri bit is to make the audience think Ripley might help Dupri get the win in a shock victory, but Perez prevents this from happening. Good ol comedy Santino Marella style stuff.
So now to Clash in Paris - Raquel wins with the help of Roxanne. There’s been rumors that Raquel will get a big push based on her performances, why not reward her with this spontaneous moment? Someone needs to fill the gap right now, let her be the one in the history books to do it!
But the bigger picture here is this - Raquel vs Stephanie rematch at Worlds Collide just two weeks later, where Stephanie wins the championship. WWE wants to go big with AAA? This is a cool way to do it. It’s not quite the same as Samoa Joe winning the NXT title at a house show, but I think it’s cool enough.
Sheamus vs Rusev
With a name like “Good Ol Fashioned Donnybrook match”, this has to be an absolute slugfest. And I feel it is absolutely necessary for Rusev to win. But the real meat and potatoes is the post match shenanigans:
The match was so hard hitting and well fought, Rusev and Sheamus are almost about to have a handshake out of respect - when suddenly three men storm the ring and attack both men. The three attackers are not masked at all - Ludwig Kaiser, Pete Dunn and Tyler Bate. That’s right, it’s El Grande Americano and the two lackeys - except they are just their 'regular' wrestling gimmicks.
The next night on RAW they explain they are the true hardest hitting wrestling in WWE and are here to prove it. I wouldn’t even have anyone acknowledge that they are also the Americano characters. I would run it like this: If Dunn and Bate are just doing quick run-ins as the Americano lackeys, let them wrestle as Dunn and Bate. If Kaiser is going to wrestle as El Grande, let him be a mouth piece to Dunn and Bate.
I think there could be an interesting story with Ludwig attempting to build his own Emporium; or even just having these three guys together as European brutes would be fun too. I wouldn’t stop the El Grande Americano stuff either. Let’s just remind the WWE audience that these guys are still around.
And at the same time, I see a 3 vs 2 situation here. Could this be a catalyst used to get Wade Barrett back in action, even if for just one night, to fight alongside his former stablemates? (Even if that stable sucked ass at the time).
Randy Orton vs Drew McIntyre
Either this match gets announced on SmackDown in real life or surprise - I hereby fantasy book that it got announced!
Nothing special to this match, the aura of Orton alone is what makes it special. However, it is very fast and tense (ooo baby). Randy Orton goes for an RKO, to which McIntrye throws him away. The momentum sends Orton running forward, bouncing off the ropes, and turning around to a Claymore (outta nowhere!!!!). Drew McIntyre wins.
Post match, McIntyre is lining up a fallen Orton for an additional Claymore following a brutal beatdown - when Cody Rhodes returns to save his friend. This sets up the Rhodes vs McIntyre match we've been leading to for a few weeks now.
John Cena vs Logan Paul
I call this fantasy booking “Logan Paul fucking dies”. After a little back and forth, Cena takes control - and he never loses it. John Cena hits Logan Paul with 17 AAs. This is one more time than the amount of suplexes Lesnar gave Cena in their 2014 match. Plus it’s the amount of world titles he has won, so that’s a fun bonus. I feel like this also eliminates the needs for a Lesnar run in at the end, given this is Cena calling his shot back at The Beast.
Seth Rollins vs CM Punk vs LA Knight vs Jey Uso (For the World Heavyweight Championship)
This match becomes pure chaos, considering fatal four-way means no DQ. In the closing stretch of the match, LA Knight takes himself and Punk crashing through tables off the entrance ramp. Bronson Reed gets himself involved to fight against Jey Uso but Roman comes to Uso’s aid - just to almost immediately get pummeled from behind by Bron Breakker. They all fight through the crowd and into the back area. LA Knight has found himself recovered and back in the ring, who spins an unsuspecting Rollins around for a BFT and pin - just to be pulled out of the ring and attacked by a man in a hoodie. The hooded man reveals himself to be Austin Theory - Rollins secret “Plan B”. Knight is thrown back into the ring for Rollins to get the pin and retain.
This mysterious injury of Austin Theory was announced quietly, two weeks after Rollins “faked” injury. Could this be a coincidence? Even if it’s not a work, Theory deserves another shot at being a big player in WWE. The only thing he really lacked was mic skills and when you put those skills up against John Cena’s skills, you’re going to fail. Let’s not forget Reigns had some rough years there in the beginning. Theory is the most deserving of this spot on the roster and I hope WWE actually ends up doing this. I won’t take any credit or anything, they can have this one on ol' Tyler. It’s the love for the game (pun intended)
Surfs up bitches
Trying out new outros, sorry for the aggression.. but there we have it! Clash in Paris booked and upgraded. Let's hope the actual show is a fun time with big moments
Thanks for reading - keep it beachy, baby!
